Wollongong School Education Area (SEA) is one of 40 SEAs in the New South Wales Department of Education and Training (DET).

NSW public schools are world leaders in comprehensive education.

Our aim is to provide a vibrant and responsive public education system that produces literate, numerate, well-educated citizens with the capability and confidence to make a positive contribution to our society.

Wollongong SEA comprises 62 public schools - 50 Primary schools and 12 Secondary schools.

Wollongong SEA Office, located in West Wollongong, is the administrative hub of the SEA.

Wollongong is approximately 80kms south of Sydney, on the east coast of Australia.

The most northern part of Wollongong SEA is Helensburgh, the most southern part is Dapto.

Neighbouring SEAs are Sutherland SEA to the north, Campbelltown SEA to the west, and Shellharbour SEA to the south.
